We looked at the 4-wheeler tours, but we decided to pay the extra money for the buggy because we both wanted to be comfortable sitting for a few hours. It was definitely worth the money too. “I would not recommend booking with this company. I reserved a four-stop tour, as reviews indicated that the longer tour with additional stops did not provide sufficient time at each location. Despite booking only the day before, when the bus arrived—15 minutes late—the guide informed us that we had been placed on a different bus due to availability issues. I assumed this was the same tour we had booked, but it quickly became apparent that it was not. At the first stop, I noticed discrepancies, as our itinerary was not supposed to include Vilaflor. “On a positive note we were picked up from our hotel. On a negative note what we thought was going to be a smaller more intimate trip ended up being lots of smallish groups joined in together, firstly to view the sunset, which was great but way too busy at our public viewpoint. We then moved up mount Teide to less than 2000m to star gaze and have planets and stars pointed out and explained. Our two guides Jaime and Filipe were extremely knowledgeable, but the whole experience felt a little uncoordinated. We also got the impression that we would be travelling nearer to the 3000m summit of Teide.”
